Grilled Cheese Foundation, Inc. was created to help struggling single parents get their kids through high school and adequately prepare them for college. The core focus areas for scholarship funds are; Student Financial Mentor Sponsorship's and Fresh Start College Scholarship's.
1. FIND YOUR PASSION SPONSORSHIP OVERVIEW
Student Financial Sponsorship is open to all junior high and high school students in Alachua, Marion, Monroe, and Sumter Counties. The sponsorship for continued extracurricular activities are paid directly to the program of interest, quarterly.
Activities may include, but not limited to, dance classes, football, baseball, gymnastics, swimming, music and other similar activities as approved by the Grilled Cheese Foundation board.

2. FRESH START COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW
The Fresh Start College Scholarship is open to high school seniors in Alachua, Marion, and Sumter Counties. The award is a one time $1,500 scholarship for ancillary college expenses such as room & board, apartment, furniture, utilities, food and general living expenses. * Conditions apply.

As part of the application, for the Fresh Start scholarship, students must write a 200 word essay on how they have helped their own community and why they should be chosen to receive this scholarship. In addition, awarded applicants must volunteer for twenty hours of community service reviewed and approved by the Grilled Cheese Foundation Board.
As part of the application process, seniors will also be required to read "Prepping for the College Financial Experience" pamphlet and complete a 10-question quiz. The quiz will be open book and must be passed with a 100% score. Upon applying, the pamphlet and the quiz will be emailed to the email address listed on the application.
The Fresh Start College Scholarships are awarded once a year. The completed application must be submitted no later than April 1st of each year. Notification of awards are annual and on the first Tuesday in May.
3. GO THE DISTANCE SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW
Each year one high school senior will be awarded a four year college scholarship for the Central Florida University-Ocala OR Santa Fe College-Gainesville. The student must be accepted into Central Florida University or Santa Fe College and pursue a degree in Business or Finance to be considered for the CFU Scholarship. The recipient must have maintained an "A" average throughout high school and maintain an "A" average while in college to maintain the scholarship award.
